Under-socialized puppies grow up to be fearful or aggressive adults. At this age, socialization is crucial for a confident well-rounded temperament. Creating proper habits and getting off to a good start with your puppy is very important to make sure he/she doesn't develop problems later on. Training your puppy may seem like a lot of work, but it is one of the best things you can do - for both of you. An obedient, well-behaved dog is a good canine citizen and a welcome companion and family member, as well as a positive reflection of you as a responsible pet owner. Early training (the earlier, the better) is a great way to ensure a long, happy relationship with your pet. Don't wait until you have a grown dog with bad habits!! Don't wait until your dog develops into a delinquent.
For 8 week to 20 week old smaller puppies (large breed puppies must be less than 16 weeks old at the start of the class). Small breed puppies can be older than 20 weeks old (especially if they are extremely shy and under-socialized).
